Snap, Lock, and Save: Introducing the Variable Theft Deductible
At Wombi, we want you to ride with total peace of mind. We know that the biggest worry for any e-bike rider is the "what if." Specifically, “What if my bike is stolen?”
Lately, we’ve been taking a hard look at our security data. To be honest, we’ve experienced an uptick in thefts recently, and our team noticed a common thread: many of these bikes weren't locked according to our security protocols. When a bike isn't secured properly, it makes it an easy target.
Because we want to keep this program affordable and sustainable for everyone, we are retooling our theft protection and introducing the Variable Theft Deductible—a system that rewards you for making bike security a daily habit.
The $500 Savings Hack
We’ve kept the math simple. If your bike is stolen, the standard deductible is $1,000. But, if you take a quick 5-second photo of your bike properly locked up before you walk away, we’ll slash that deductible in half to $500.
Think of that photo like $500 in the bank! By capturing "Compliant Visual Proof" (a photo with location/time metadata), you prove the bike was locked properly, and we’ll do our part to get you back on the road for less.
Mastering the 3-Step Rhythm
To qualify for either deductible, you must stick to the Locking Protocol every time you park:
- The Chain: Loop it through the frame and a permanent, immovable object.
- The Wheel Lock: Click the integrated frame lock into place with your key.
- The Alarm: Press the button on your key fob to arm the sensors. Beep-beep!
