FAQs
Does Wombi offer electric bikes with cargo options?
Yes, all of the Tern bikes we offer with our subscriptions can hold cargo with a few of our accessory options. From the Hauler Rack, Panniers, to the Transporteur Rack, commuters can carry their work bag, groceries, and more.
How many hours does the e-bike battery last?
The Tern GSD will run between 32 and 65 miles with a single-battery configuration, depending on how heavily you rely on the pedal assist and how much load you carry. The Tern Quick Haul will run between 32 and 62 miles. In order to use the electric motor, you’ll need to charge the battery for about 4 hours.
Are e-bikes street legal?
Absolutely! The Tern GSD and Tern HSD are classified as a Class 1 e-bike—meaning it’s pedal-assist only, with a max speed of 20 mph and no throttle. That keeps things simple, safe, and allowed on bike lanes, paths, and city streets. No special license or registration required—just hop on and ride. The Tern Quick Haul P9 Sport is a Class 3 e-bike, offering pedal-assist up to 28 mph. This means it's street legal in many areas, including California, where Class 3 e-bikes are permitted on roads and bike lanes adjacent to roadways. However, local regulations can vary, so it's always a good idea to check your city's specific rules regarding Class 3 e-bikes.
